Pediatrics Conference in Australia in April has extraordinary program with outstanding speakers and a variety of clinically useful topics
Some of the world’s most experienced doctors of chiropractic in caring for children and pregnant women will be teaching at the Chiropractic Pediatrics Conference to be held April 18-20, 2008 at the Sheraton Mirage Resort in the Gold Coast, Australia. The conference, presented by the ICA Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics is co-sponsored by the Chiropractors’ Association of Australia (National) Ltd., and the New Zealand College of Chiropractic.
“This conference is designed to provide the chiropractic family practitioner with a vital learning experience in caring for the pediatric patient as well as provide an opportunity to showcase and discuss chiropractic pediatric research.,” said ICA Pediatrics Council Chair Dr. Lora Tanis, a successful family practitioner in New Jersey. “The Pediatric Council’s primary objective has always been to provide superior educational programs to improve and expand a doctor of chiropractic’s diagnostic and adjusting skills caring for infants, children and pregnant women. I invite all my colleagues in family practice to come to this conference and share this learning experience with us. I guarantee you will find something that is new and useful even if you are an experienced practitioner.”
The outstanding program includes 10 distinguished speakers from the USA, Australia, New Zealand and England with various expertise and skills. The topics are clinical in content and range from chiropractic care of common to unusual clinical conditions, neurology, radiology, pregnancy, gait, sleep disorders, breast-feeding, etc. There will be a clinical grand rounds session with a panel of practitioners, as well as an inspiring presentation of humanitarian outreach programs for children at risk and special needs in SE Asia and the US.
The speakers include Joan Fallon, DC, FICCP, MSc; Lora Tanis, DC, DICCP; Laura Hanson, DC, DICCP, NDT; Lindsay Rowe, MAppSc(Chiro), MD, DACBR, Sharon Vallone, DC, FICCP, Navine Haworth, DC, DICCP, Valeria Pennacchio, DC, and Joyce Miller, DC, FACO, FCC..
An exciting addendum to the program is the graduation of the first group of Diplomates in Chiropractic Pediatrics (DICCPs) down under. DCs who pass the Board Examination in Chiropractic Pediatrics in January 2008 will be presented their postgraduate diploma at a special ceremony Friday evening. Commencement speaker is Dr. Maxine McMullen, native of New Zealand, former Professor of Pediatrics from Palmer College (US) recognized world-wide as a pioneer instructor in chiropractic pediatrics. Saturday there will be another interesting presentation during the luncheon by Dr. Brian Kelly, president of the New Zealand College of Chiropractic.
“This is a program no chiropractic family practitioner should miss,” said Research Symposium Chair Dr. Joan Fallon. “It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience a unique program taught by doctors who have a passion for what they do and want to share their knowledge and experience with others so the care DCs provide children is more effective, always safe and always appropriate.”
