Pediatrics Council Chair Dr. Lora Tanis named International Chiropractors Association's 2012 Chiropractor of the Year
The International Chiropractors Association (ICA), at its Annual Meeting in April, named Dr. Lora Tanis, chair of the ICA Pediatrics Council, ICA's 2012 Chiropractor of the Year, The Chiropractor of the Year is ICA's highest honor and presented annually to one exceptional individual who has distinguished himself or herself through extraordinary service to the chiropractic profession.
Dr. Tanis has been in practice for nearly 25 years and has servied the ICA Pediatrics Council for more than 15 years starting as a Secretary-Treasurer and then as Chair. A full-time practitioner with a very busy practice, her love for chiropractic ,children and what she does is very apparent and also inspiring. She has a special interest in caring for infants with special needs or developmental problems, including premature babies.
A graduate of Palmer College and active alum, Dr,. Tanis was one of the first DCs to get Board Certified in Chiropractic Pediatrics and receive the Diplomate in Clinincal Chirporactc Pediatrics (DICCP). She now teaches for the DICCP program in the US, Canada and New Zealand.
An engaging individual with a zest for life, Dr. Lora (as her little patients call her) manages to juggle her practice, teach, speak, serve as a Board Examiner and Council leader, as well as be a wife and mother with energy, efficiency and enthusiasm. Her reputation as a kind, loving and skilled doctor of chiropractic has been built on her commitment to integirity, service and continual learning. Dr. Tanis practices in Hewitt, New Jersey.
